This brief sermon series explores developing a secure life in an increasingly insecure world. Trust is at an historic low in this season in the aftermath of cataclysmic natural, national, and human disasters around the globe. Yet we have a remarkable promise from God that declares we can find a place of rest in the Lord and that He will shield and protect us – that it is possible to lead a life of security, and it is a blessing from God. By proclaiming what God has said about our lives, we can transform our feelings and come to a place that is not vulnerable. Our responses are important, and the pathway that leads us towards the experience of that promise requires constant vigilance against the voices that counter God’s truth. It requires guarding our hearts and our thoughts, our desires, our beliefs, our spirits, and our bodies – choosing and pursuing God’s righteousness. Jesus said, “My peace I give to you.”
