Pastor Phillip Jackson, Associate Pastor/Church Administrator: We live in a world where the dark is getting darker and we may find ourselves either in overly optimistic denial or in cynical pessimism. The good news is that as the world grows darker, the light of God’s truth grows ever brighter. Our life-effectiveness depends upon our embracing the dark or embracing the light. Moreover, how we view the world will determine what we embrace. Pastor Philip reminds us that Scripture promises that the ‘last days’ can be the very best days possible, and there is great hope for those who are Christ-followers because God has a plan and He is working it with determination. We want to embrace His plan for the world, and the key is recognizing ‘Christ in us’. Our only true refuge and sanctuary is our identity and position in Jesus Christ and His finished, sacrificial work on the cross. It provides all the protection we need to live victorious lives. There is a Scriptural point of application for this: putting on God’s full armor – His belt of truth, His breastplate of righteousness, His gospel of peace, His shield of faith, His helmet of salvation, and His sword of the spirit-the word of God. Christ in us – the HOPE of Glory!
